AN IDENTICAL twin tried to pass himself off as his brother when police on the Costa Blanca pulled him over at a routine checkpoint.
The 20-year-old man did not have a driving licence of his own and took his sibling’s car to go a party.
El Campello police officers noticed him doing some strange manoeuvres behind the wheel and investigated further.

They asked him for his driving licence and he produced one belonging to his brother with a photo that totally matched his appearance.
Vehicle registration papers in his brother’s name were examined but the police still thought he was hiding something.
The driver was tested for drugs and failed, with officers doing an extra check of the vehicle documents that showed he was trying to dupe them.
They contacted his brother and told him to go to the El Campello police station where he confirmed his twin had taken his documents and car.
A police officer said: “When you think you’ve seen it all in your career, something always comes up that surprises you again.”
The errant twin face two charges of identity theft and driving without a licence plus a fine for taking drugs.
