THE Costa Blanca is set to enjoy a classy autumn as Calp town hall announces over two dozen events for an exciting cultural programme for autumn.
The 30 events combine music, visual arts, theatre and heritage activities.
The main focus will be the official unveiling of the future Museu d’Art Urbà (MAU), a project that will transform the historic centre into an open-air museum featuring 21 permanent art installations.
The visual arts programme is rounded off by the 11th edition of the Speed Painting Competition and a Roman era re-enactment at the Baños de la Reina, organised by Prima Legio.

The music schedule includes a performance by the Ukrainian chamber orchestra Camerata Odesa, performing Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.
There will also be a concert by the Valencian Community Chamber Orchestra.
Later, the guitar will take centre stage with ‘Sonatinas’ by Hugo Moltó and the ‘Serenade’, project bringing together local musician Darío González and cellist Alfons Rochera.
The programme also includes performances by Francisco and Tamara, Solera Artística, the Gala Star ballet company, and a stop in Calp from flamenco violinist Paco Montalvo as part of his world tour.
There will also be free live broadcasts of ballet and operas from London’s Covent Garden.
Local talent will play a prominent role, featuring the Unión Musical Calp-Ifach, the ClaudeFa Association, the Ifach Choir, the Xirimiters del Carellot, the Xaranga la Xarlotà, the Rondalla de Calp and the Casa de Andalucía’s rociero choir.
And finally there will be a series of theatre productions, such as ‘La cuisine de ma cousine’ by the La Cubana theatre company, ‘Corta el cable rojo’, an improvisation show that has been a hit throughout Spain, plus ‘La mujer de negro’, which stands out for its immersive experience.
